Please I need advice too I'm experiencing the same thing with a Carbon X1.

I've seen a few issues with wifi connectivity. I'm having wifi issues and interrupted downloads (sm and lg files). Here's a solution that so far is working for my new X1 (out of the box). I believe it's occurring because of the WAN Miniport drivers. Windows cannot load the drivers that are required for the device because there is no driver associated with the device, thus it cannot be removed from Device Manager.

Disabling the driver seems to be one workaround. Instructions below. /// These two links have suggestions as well that I haven't tried since disabling is working so far and is the easiest fix: (1) (2) (win8) Computer: Carbon X1 (5Gen) new out of box Windows 10 Home Driver: Intel (R)Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 Driver Version: 19.71.1.1 (same with Lenovo webpage to date, no update) Lenovo X1 comes with many WAN Miniport drivers. They may be useful for certain types of connections but I am currently not in need of them and found that they may be causing an issue with my wifi connectivity and downloads. I've disabled them and haven't had any issues yet. Here's what I did: • Go to Windows • Control Panel • Device Manager • Network Adapters • Disable all WAN Miniport adapters (right click, disable device) • Reboot (Restart required) • Check your wifi connection and downloading ability. Should be better.

Windows

Note: //*to view these later, go to View in the Device Manager tabs and click show hidden devices. I don't recommend trying to get these WAN Miniport back and enabled again, since they seem to be causing the wifi connection issue. But before you disable them, make sure you don't need them. To get them back you have to reinstall the Intel (R)Dual Band Wireless AC 8265 because there is no option after disabling the WAN Miniports to enable them again, you can only see options: 'update driver' or 'uninstall device'; 'scan for hardware changes'; 'properties. To get these WAN Miniport back, you can try to reinstall the Intel 8265 driver to get the WAN Miniport devices to be reloaded.
