Download Volume Serial Number Editor 2.02.34 or any other file from Applications category. HTTP download also available at fast speeds. Many downloads like Syswin 3.4 may also include a crack, serial number, unlock code or keygen (key generator). If this is the case then it is usually made available in the full download archive itself.
I have only one USB port on my older IBM, Using a 'IOGEAR' model GUH274, 4 port USB 2.0 hub and 'Keyspan' model USA-19HS USB to serial adapter gives me no trouble at all. On a typical day I will use the blue tooth, plugged into the 4 port USB device to talk with a plc or a serial connection, than use one of the serial port adapters to talk with a HMI, and another serial port adapter to talk with a servo. This is done with all three devices online with the laptop at the same time.
I received a tip from a Omron tech about the Keyspan USB to serial port adapter. He said he used it everyday with no trouble, unlike others he tried. I have used the Keyspan for 2 years. Omron Plc types CPM1. CPM2A, C200HE, CS1, CJ, SERIES. Never a connection problem.
Hope this helps. I used to use the MT 609 adaptor which worked OK only as long as the Omron was in Host link mode for the connection. The other two protocals Sysmac and toolbus we ran into trouble. Funny part was that I had a connection with the MT 609 long enough to start a download but during the download it had changed something that caused errors during the download so I had to install my CX-one onto a desktop computer to use a serial port which allowed me to connect. After I talked to an Omron tech got bounced around to over 15 different techs with Omron until one of them was able to explain reasonably what had happened.
After that fiasco my company was more than willing to buy the correct adaptor.

Hi, I have removed all old versions of Java, but after restarting my computer I checked the Java folder in Program Files, and there was still a j2re1.4.2_04 folder, and a jre1.6.0_01 folder. Should I delete the first one? After the Hijackthis fixes, my computer restarted and I think my IE is now running much more smoothly.

Well, in your review, you said that you try for a year, that exaggerated. Among those 80 failed downloads of yesterday, There will be people who have also had the same problem as you.
Although, IE still seems to be crashing regularly, no warning, whole thing just closes. Sometimes error messages are displayed. I have included screenshots in this post. (Only 2 were taken, the first one I missed but was similar) I downloaded Spy Sweeper and installed the Spyware package (not the Spyware + AntiVirus package). I then scanned the C drive.
All was going well until the scanner stopped at the file C: windows system32 drivers runtime2.sys. It remained on the file for 10min before I decided the program had stalled. I tried stopping the scan, but the computer was frozen and I couldn't open anything (when I opened the start menu I couldn't activate any programs, I couldn't shut down or log off, and when I ctrl/alt/del for task manager, it didn't come up, only a Windows error sound played).
I forced shutdown my computer and tried the scan again but the same problem occured. Upon restart, Spy Sweeper produced an Error Log which I have included in this post. Also, when I looked in the C: windows system32 drivers directory, I couldn't find the file runtime2.sys, even with show hidden files on. (Note: I have noticed that the freezing problem occurs when I leave my computer idle for about 1hour). Upon restarting the computer, Spy Sweeper detects trojan-zero (sysmon32 and winsys64 came under this) and trojan-downloader.gen (driver.exe came under this).
